Checked this place out one morning. It was just a short walk from my hotel. Small cafe with good service and great food. Server was very nice and suggested a special not on the menu, eggs benedict florentine with tomatoes... delicious! I visited on a weekday before 10am so there was no waiting. In and out and very satisfied. Hope to visit again.

Nice little breakfast spot. Quick service, casual seating and food arrived quickly. We both ordered egg white western omelettes, which comes with homefries, which were par for a diner, and toast. I ordered side of sausage which was tasty but not visually appealing. Omelette was delicious Great place for casual breakfast

Best hidden gem on the beach. Boasting they are open 8 days a week for breakfast and lunch, the Beach Shanty south serves the best eggs Benedict around. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Go there!

Yuck. We went there this morning and it was a waste of a breakfast. They didn't get our order right. He ordered the eggrita with ham, egg, cheese and peppers. He received scrambled egg in a wrap. I ordered two eggs over medium with sausage, home fries and toast. I received some stale rye toast, nasty home fries with so many onions and little flavor, and runny eggs. This is definitely a local hangout. You'll be overdressed if you wear a clean t shirt. Waitresses have been ridden hard and put away wet.

My boyfriend and I came here for breakfast after trying to go to a different location at around 11:30 am. They serve breakfast until 1pm (even though menu says till 12). They had open tables and no wait, which was great! You walk in, find a table, and wait to be served. The waitress came shortly after we sat down and took our drink order. She gave us a few minutes to review the menu and came back to take our order. Everything was good up until here! We ordered coffee and a bowl of fruits. I ordered an egg and bacon muffin (one that appears on a previous review) with house-made potatoes...It wasn't the same as the picture because the bread was not toasted, so there's a bit of disappointment there. My boyfriend ordered an egg burrito, which he said was not great... (Pictures below). Depending on your budget, we spent $33 (including 27.5% tip). The reason I give this place 3 stars is because the food took WAY too long to get to us, approximately 25-30 minutes for a simple meal. I had asked for Splenda to drink my coffee (diabetic) and I had to get up myself to get it because our waitress forgot and all the other waitresses avoided eye-contact with you, so I wasn't able to ask for it. The coffee was too strong.... I can drink a strong coffee (Latin) but that was too strong. On the positive note, we found parking quite easily. The fruit bowl was delicious and fresh! And the place is really cute.

I hate to write a bad review on this place, because I feel like normally this place is good. This review is based on food, service, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere. The food was pretty good, and for the price, it's probably the best value in the area. I had an omelet, and chose the egg whites only for $1 more. The atmosphere is typical of a busy breakfast place. People talking, eating, and generally having a good time before they start their day. As far as cleanliness, they keep the place up pretty good, but it is in need of a makeover. A ____ can only be polished so much. Now, the reason for the 2 star rating is how long it took to get our food. I watched people leave, and I watched people come. I watched people order, and I watched people get their food. Let me back up, our group ordered within 5 minutes of sitting down. We were ready before the waitress came to get our drink order. As I'm watching people come and go, I'm noticing the new people that sat down after us are getting their food and eating. When I brought this to our waitress is attention, she proceeded to argue with me about how long we had been there. Now, I check-in on Yelp after I look over the menu and know what I want. This gives me something to do while I'm waiting on my food to arrive. I checked my check-in on Yelp, and it was about an hour. If she had just owned the mistake, I would not be writing a bad review. I will go back one day, and if everything is satisfactory I will change this review.

Came here for breakfast, nothing out of the ordinary. Standard fare: eggs, pancakes, etc. Prices are great. They have a coconut syrup for pancakes which was pretty good. The food is good, service is ok, location is great.

Yes, it takes forever. Yes, it's not fancy. But we eat here EVERY time we visit, and it's because we love it. Good food, nice people, SO reasonably priced. If you're not in hurry (and really, why are you in a hurry at the beach?) just go.

Another perfect day. This is one of the RARE places that serves the food CONSISTENTLY well. It's always great! At our table: Burger, omelette, Belgium waffles... All fantastic. I'm telling you. Go here.

I loved place with two exceptions, the street noise and the price (although to have breakfast in Clearwater for less than $40 for two people is kind of a miracle). The food was fresh and made to order and the service was great. This location is in a busy area but still has outdoor seating which was a plus for us.

Very unprofessional and dirty there was no hostess they just sat me down in what ever table was available the silver wear wasn't rapped in a napkin she just handed me the silver wear with her dirty hand the chocolate milk wasn't even mixed well you could see the Hersey syrup on the side the waitress was sassy and the food and the atmosphere was bland as fuck the only thing that was kinda good about this place was it was close to my hotel and its was kinda cheep but there a McDonald's close by

Our server was great! Super friendly and we loved the outdoor seating. The breakfast wasn't good though and the coffee was very weak. Sad but true. Hate to give only three stars but we didn't enjoy it.

The food was amazing and we would definitely come back! The service was quick and the staff were very nice. The food portions were big and yummy... The coconut syrup was sweet but delicious, the cheese steak and Greek omelet were to die for. What a find!

Great little dive. I had ruben! Best I ever had. Sister had omelette with extra cheese. It was great too. Potatoes were fried and different than hash browns but I liked them better. Don't order room service. Go here and save a load. U can use the extra money to buy beer surf style.

Had "the best Philly cheesesteak" and thought it was a little bland. But the food was good and convenient to the beach.

Ate an incredible breakfast here the first time we stayed at the Hyatt across the street in oct of '11. Now we're back and we brought back up, our friends from Fresno, ca. Can't wait to save a ton of money in the morning at this small family owned breakfast joint. Will update in the morning when the 7 of us hit them with a Gordon Ramsey style "stress test". Lets see if they get to keep the 5 star rave. Ok, our stress test shrank to only 3 of us and they came through with flying colors. Laura was out waitress and checked in with us regularly. My wife had the eggs Benedict and when she was done it looked like they could put the plate right back in a stack of clean ones. My little grand daughter scarfed down the French toast. We did send the bacon back in for extra scorching after she brought it back not looking well done enough. But that's because we love bacon almost burnt like many do. If I stayed at the Hyatt for a week I would eat here every morning. I wouldn't even think twice.

This place is GREAT. We have three small children (5, 3, & 1.5 years old), and were staying the Hyatt across the street. Our kids were HANGRY( Hungry & Angry) and we need to find a place fast. We saw this place across the street and decided to give it a try after quickly looking at reviews on yelp. We do not understand why more people don't review this place. It's absolutely perfect! The service was fast and friendly. They were very kid-friendly. Our kids loved their chicken fingers and friends. Their bacon cheese burgers were great. We liked their food so much, we asked if they do take out. We had brought some food to make for the kids in our hotel room (nuggets and hot dogs) so we just needed a couple of sandwiches for lunch. It worked out perfectly. While the kids were eating, we ordered a Reuben (SO GOOD!!) and another bacon cheese burger. It was fantastic take out, quick and easy. We could enjoy our meal in our hotel room while the kids napped and ate their lunch. Two thumbs up for take out and dine-in. We only wished they were open for dinner! I would highly recommend this place.

I'm new to the area and decide to have breakfast by the beach. I notice the sign out front for a $3.99 breakfast, sweet! I walk in and the waitress, Dee, says I can sit anywhere, so I walk over to the table I wish to sit and she yells from across the restaurant, "Not there!" That's annoying, don't say sit anywhere when you don't mean anywhere. Her tone was rude and it was embarrassing, thank goodness the place wasn't busy or I would have walked out. Dee suggests eggs Benedict and it being my all time favorite, I agree. I asked if instead of the English muffin and hash browns I could have extra meat. She said no and that she would have to charge me for the extra meat. Fine. Now I'm annoyed. She was so curt, it was a turn off. I've been a server and you never say, no, you make other suggestions. Now the eggs Benedict, it arrives and it is not much, if any, presentation. The Hollandaise sauce is all over the plate and it is very thick. It tasted like it had flour in it which Hollandaise sauce should not have. Instead of Canadian bacon they use an apple flavored ham. The pieces of ham were huge, ridiculously huge. Why didn't Dee tell me the pieces were big that ordering extra meat was unnecessary? So of course, the extra meat I paid $3.50 was wasted. The ham tasted awful, I don't know what it is but it was flavorless. I did not finish my meal which is unusual especially for my all time favorite dish, eggs Benedict. When the check came the dish was $9.99 + $3.50 for the extra meat. $13.49 for a dish that I did not like; that's very disappointing. The coffee was mediocre and the ambiance was blah, nothing special. But I wasn't expecting it to be much. The restaurant was not busy, in fact, it was myself and another group at the other side of the restaurant. So the restaurant was fairly quiet with the exception of the wait staff talking among themselves. They were discussing leaving early and Dee became annoyed with the other waitress because she did not want to leave early since she did not work the day before. The conversation was pretty loud and extremely unprofessional. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. The following day, much earlier than the day before, my husband wants breakfast and wants to try the place. I tell him I was not impressed with this place. We arrive and opt to sit outside, I did not want to listen to the waitstaff again. The tables out front are all wet. We stood there for a few minutes and then I walked in to get something to dry the seats with and lo and behold the waitstaff and kitchen staff are standing in a huddle chatting. Finally, a waitress (not Dee) asks if we need someone to dry the tables. Seriously? If I were the manager I would make sure those seats were dried first thing in the morning so that your guests can seat comfortably. It's Florida for Pete's sake and there is one thing you can count on and it's the morning dew, dry it! The $3.99 is basically for eggs and toast. We ordered an egg and 3 pieces of bacon for each of us. Our waitress (a very slender woman) was courteous and kept my hubby's tea full so that was very nice. But neither of us was impressed and we won't be back.
